What you should know in Tennessee this week: ➡️ The TN-07 special election is getting national attention, but voter turnout remains low at under 4% of registered voters so far. Voters turning out for Aftyn can make all the difference! Volunteer here. ➡️ Did you miss our monthly meeting with Jerri Green last week? No worries: you can see it here! My highlights from our call are below. ➡️ President Trump, who constantly critiques Biden for his use of the autopen, had his signature on the pardon for former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada replaced by the DOJ because it was identical to other signatures.
Highlights from Last Week’s Call with Jerri Green Last week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Gubernatorial Candidate Jerri Green about the election results from earlier this month and what they mean for Tennessee. My highlights from our call? *Michele Hornish, Executive Director and co-founder of Every State Blue, chiming in to emphasize how Virginia was able to achieve wins across the state: by employing the same model we do of running and investing everywhere. *Jerri Green’s clarity on Tennessee-centered, future-oriented policies: “I’m not trying to move Tennessee left or right: I’m trying to move it forward.” *How scarcity-driven, all-or-nothing ideas don’t serve us when it comes to investing in campaigns and generational change: whatever skill, time, or resource you have, it can be used for good. If you missed it, don’t worry – you can see the full recording below.
If you’re already a monthly giving member to Blue Tennessee, thank you! Know that your support is critical for Democrats running in the toughest races in our state. As we gear up for 2026, we need your help more than ever. Will you join us today to keep the momentum going?
